- We have two timeframes in "Marble Hall Murders."

In the present one, 2025, Susan Ryeland has come back from Crete after breaking up with Andreas.

- She's forging ahead, new life, got to find somewhere else to live, got to find another job.

- She is asked to work with a young writer.

Eliot Crace is taking over the Atticus Pund mysteries.

- There's a whole family in this series called the Crace family.

- The big thing that's hanging over them and the whole family is he believes that his grandmother was murdered and he believes he knows who did it.

And I think he feels that the rest of the family aren't willing to face the truth.

That is the catalyst for him then creating the book.

- And suddenly you've come out of nowhere asking questions.

- Read Eliot's book.

Most of the characters were based on his family.

- They've all got their agendas, which is what's very clever about it because it keeps you therefore guessing as to who's got skin in the game.

- We've got an amazing cast this year.

All of those characters who play the modern day Crace family will be playing characters in the book within the book.

I play Miriam Crace, who is a children's author, and I play Lady Margaret Chalfont, who is a fictional character.

- My name is Mark Bonnar and I'm playing Elmer Waysmith.

- I'm Harry Lloyd.

I'm playing Robert Waysmith, who is Elmer's son.

- I get to interact with everyone.

You know, all the people that have been in the modern day who've transformed into the 1950s, I meet all of them.

- The two worlds collide, the contemporary world and the 1955 world.

- What happened?

- Nothing happened.

- It's a quirky thing that actors play two different characters in two different time zones.

- It's a fun thing to try and grapple with really.

That was the thing that excited me the most.

- It's actually really interesting setting it in Corfu with also flashbacks to the war as well, so it's all still quite raw.

And I'm very looking forward to that.

- Elaine Clover is the wife of Charles Clover, who you see in the first series, and he's now in jail.

But the relationship with Susan is really fun because on the face of it, Elaine just wants to be Susan's best friend.

Butter wouldn't melt, but butter will melt.

- And also you've got police who come into the story quite significantly.

- Ms.

Ryeland.

Blakeney arrives with his detective Constable Wardlaw, and she's very much the bad cop and he's very much the good cop.

- He has dabbled in writing and he's also read all of the Atticus Pund books.

- What can you expect from "Marble Hall Murders" this season?

Drama.

- It feels like it's carrying on a great tradition.

- Enjoy the game.

All the clues are there.

I think it's designed for the sleuths.

- I hope that viewers will just go along for the ride and won't guess the end.
